Christmas in Candyland

What to Expect

Your winter wonderland adventure is waiting for you! Make lasting holiday memories, create beautiful photo opportunities and watch children's imaginations grow. The best part - there is no admission charge at Christmas in Candyland!  This event is held every weekend in December in Andalusia, Alabama.

Christmas in Candyland Attractions
Located at Andalusia Court Square in front of the Covington County Court House

Admission: FREE

  • Candyland Cottage Village -  child-sized, imaginative play cottages built especially for the children and include themes such as a bank, an engineering office, an airplane, a church, restaurants and more!  Check the schedule for open play times.
  • Snow Show – The Snow Show lasts 20 minutes and is a snow experience the kids will not soon forget.  The falling snow (tiny bubble clusters shaped like snowflakes) will fill the square and give the illusion of a blizzard, without the sub-zero temperatures, runny noses, and wet clothes.

  • Horse Drawn Carriage Rides -  catch a horse-drawn carriage ride from Milky Moo's around the square for $4 per person.

Springdale on Ice Attractions
Springdale is located at 505 East Three Notch Street in Andalusia (about ½ mile East from Court Square).

Admission: FREE

  • Winter Skating Experience – Skates are available in a variety of sizes ranging from a 9T to an adult 13.  Skating tickets are sold First Come - First Served, and only a limited number are sold for each time slot each day.  Make sure to stop by the ticket booth first and get your skating tickets.  Please bring TALL SOCKS if you plan to skate.  Skate rentals are $5.
  • Train Rides – enjoy a trip around a festive trail and through a tunnel on a beautiful replica of a classic steam locomotive.  Complete with an Engine, 4 wagons and an ADA accessible caboose, the train holds 25-30 passengers each trip.  Train rides are free.
  • Candyland Cottages – Find another entire village of imaginative playhouses at Springdale including a Train Depot, Doc McStuffin’s House, a Gingerbread House, and a Grocery Store to name a few.
  • Snow Tubing Hill – The Polar Bear Tubing Hill boasts two 150 ft. lanes for racing snow tubes.  Children will need to be able to drag the tube up a hill and be willing to ride alone.  No double riding. Snow tubes are $1 per slide.

  • Arctic Trek, Polar Bear Maze - Follow the journey of a lost polar bear cub through a large inflatable maze.  Maze runs are free!

The CANDYLand App

Located at both venues

  • The Candyland App is a free download on both Google Play and The Appstore.  Go on a hunt to find all 12 Candyland snowflake icons and take augmented reality photos and videos.  Be sure to pick up your ornament book to bring the magic of Candyland home.

What should I wear? Although most of our attractions include the words snow and ice, you should really only dress according to the weather outside that day.  If you plan to skate, please wear TALL SOCKS.

What does it cost?  There are no admission charges to any Candyland venue.  Skate rentals are $5/hr.  Snow tubing rentals are $1/slide.  Train rides, maze runs, cottage play and all snow shows and other events are completely free.

Where can I park? There a few larger parking lots around downtown and several street-side parking spaces.  you can check our interactive map for parking ideas.  Parking anywhere along E. Three Notch Street between the square and Springdale makes for an easy stroll between the two venues.

We hope to see you this December!
